Review#/Aging Potential Scale: We
review each cigar in a batch a total of 4 times.
We may smoke a minimum of 10-11 cigars in a review
cycle.
On the fourth review, we assign an "Aging Potential Score" based
on our many tastings over many months.
Aging Potential Scale:
A = this cigar has superb aging potential and is
likely to age favorably for up to 10 years, or longer
B = this cigar should age well over the first 5
years and is likely to develop further complexity
and nuances
C = this cigar may age beneficially for the first
two years, but for best results, we recommend smoking
within the first two years.
D = we believe these cigars have limited aging potential
and recommend that you enjoy them within the first
year
OVERALL SCORE = LOOK AND FEEL(.20) + FLAVOR
AND AROMA(.40) + BURN(.40)
[NOTE: We weight flavor and burn aspects higher than the appearance of the cigar.]
RATING STANDARDS: We use a 50-100 point scale.
51 - 69 = POOR
70 - 79 = MEDIOCRE
80 - 89 = FAIR - GOOD
90 - 100 = EXCELLENT (GOLD STAR)
