STORAGE CONDITIONS: This is my final review in a series of four reviews of this batch of Cuban Crafters Cabinet Selection Robusto’s. I have kept these cigars in their cello wraps within their original box in my “Aristocrat Mini” cabinet humidor. The humi is set for 69%RH and the temperature has varied between 68-74 degrees F.
TASTING NOTES: This cigar is rustic looking with a leathery wrapper leaf and a pigtail top. Exuding from said wrapper is a wonderful spicy and barnyard aroma, which really sets the stage for enjoyment of this stick.
This is my final look at this cigar; the final review in a series of four reviews that have now spanned 17 months. I can tell you from past experiences that I really like this cigar. It has all the characteristics of a great everyday smoke. It’s constructed solidly, flavorful and a nice price.
This cigar starts off with a blast of spice, which is present throughout the smoke. That’s what makes this cigar so pleasant. I love the spicy character. Besides spice, it has a nutty flavor all wrapped in a medium-bodied smoke.
When I blew the smoke out through my nose I got a combination of smoked wood and a spicy tingle. This is not an overpowering smoke. It is medium-bodied, medium-full in flavor and just a pleasure to smoke.
The 17 months of age have mellowed the body just a bit, but this cigar still has plenty of horsepower for future successful aging. I’ve said this before, but this is a great everyday smoke. I recommend this cigar highly to a wide range of taste preferences.
Be sure to listen to the Jan. 7, 2007 episode of my Stogie Fresh 5 podcast, in which I featured this cigar. Also, be sure to look up the three prior reviews in this series in the Stogie Fresh Online Cigar Review Directory.
