For those of you acquainted with our cigar reviews, you will already know that we only keep the most recent 6 reviews in the Stogie Fresh Cigar Journal. After that, they drop off and get archived in the Cigar Review Directory. Well, after much searching for a slicker and easier interface, I finally found it.
This past week, I unveiled a completely redesigned Cigar Review Directory. This new directory will make it much easier to search and find your favorite cigars that we have reviewed here at Stogie Fresh. This new “widget” has a lot of feature advantages over our old database.
First, it is easy to use and you don’t have to leave the opening page. All you have to do is scroll through the database table and find a cigar.
Below: Table rows give you information at a glance
You will note that most of the information about each cigar is located in a separate table row. The basic information includes the Brand, Name, Type, Date of Purchase, Date of Rating, Age (in months), scores for Look, Flavor and Burn, and the Overall Score on our modified 100-point scale.
To get more information about the stick, just click on the row and you will see the “Tasting Notes” and “Storage Conditions” in a content box at the right of the page. You will also see a photo of the cigar and of the cigar band.
Though not quite perfect (yet), this newly redesigned Cigar Review Directory will help you to make your future purchases. Not only will you have access to comprehensive written reviews of each cigar, but you will also read about the storage conditions under which they were kept.
Further, you will see multiple reviews on cigars of the same batch, as we track the changes to cigars over time. Our reviews of any cigars usually span over a year to a year-and-a-half. We believe this is the best way to find out valid information about the consistency of quality, construction and flavor of a cigar, as well as how successful it will be as it ages.
I encourage you to give our redesigned Cigar Review Directory a test drive.
