The featured cigar is the Camacho Corojo Diadema, while the libation is another Central American legend: Ron Zacapa Centenario 23. Besides reporting on the match-up between cigar and rum, the Doc will be airing the interview he had with Camacho president, Christian Eiroa.
The Camacho Corojo Diadema caused a huge stir in 2005 by being named the 18th best cigar in Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 of the year. They called it: “one of the best cigars made by the Eiroa family.”
Now, our rum of the day is no slouch either. Ron Zacapa Centenario 23 has earned its place in the history books as a benchmark for super premium Rums. It was the first place winner in the Premium Rums category at the 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002 Carribean Week's Rum Tasting Competition.
The age statement of this rum represents the average age of the rums in the blend. From the masterfully crafted, hand-woven basket that envelops the bottle to its skillfully selected and blended contents, this rum speaks eloquently of its fine character.
