Episode 56: Tatuaje Reserva J21 and Sierra Nevada India Pale Ale

With the weather heating up around here, I decided that today would be a good time to match a Tataje Reserva J21 with an ice cold Sierra Nevada India Pale Ale.

That’s right, this is the first time that the Doc has paired a stogie and ale, and it couldn’t be a better day: we’re clocking nearly 90 degrees F. And, of course, since I live in California, I thought it would be fitting to choose a California favorite, Sierra Nevada distillery in Chico, California, and their rare India Pale Ale.

The cigar we are smoking today, the Tatuaje Reserva J21 uses an aged ligero wrapper that represents a change from the other Reserva cigars, which use a viso wrapper. The J 21 has been called a "baby Cojonu" in terms of its blend, which promises full body and flavor in the best Cuban tradition.
