DESCRIPTION: Master Blender Hendrik Kelner of the Davidoff Company has created a unique blend for each of the four Winston Churchill cigar formats. The cigar is manufactured with a multinational blend. All the tobacco varieties used in this blend are from selected tobacco growing regions in the Dominican Republic, Peru, Nicaragua and Ecuador. The wrapper is an Ecuadorian sun grown.

Davidoff has created four sizes of the Winston Churchill, each named for a significant place and chapter, which affected and formed Mr. Churchill's remarkable life. This week’s featured cigar is the Winston Churchill Chequers. The Chequers, which is a 5 ½ x 46 ring Corona, is named after the official country residence of Britain’s Prime Ministers. During the war years between 1940 and 1945, Churchill would escape to Chequers from war-torn London to take a break from his official duties. Over the weekends, in the tranquility of the Buckinghamshire countryside, he would receive foreign visitors and allied chiefs of staff. But he would also find time for family and friends, as well as for games of croquet, not to mention a more than a few cigars.

DOC’S CIGAR POSTSCRIPT: Tatuaje RC 184 (RC 233). The RC184 is a 7 ¼ x 57 ring perfecto that I featured back in episode number 47 of SF5. That was back on Jan. 14, 2007, or about 11 months ago. They’ve now been aging in my humidor for 12.4 months. So, let’s see what a little extra age did to these smokes.

The Tatuaje RC184 and its big brother the RC233 are Nicaraguan puros. Within the strength range of Tatuaje cigars, these RC’s have a milder blend than the Cohonu 2003 and 2006, but a stronger blend than the Regios, Unicos, and Tainos, which puts it in about the middle of the Tatuaje strength range.

SPECIAL SEGMENT: Jesse Nachtigal of CigarJack.net will begin a series of reviews and ratings of cigar manufacturer web sites.
