DESCRIPTION: To earmark the passing of 10 years in the business, Rocky Patel has manufactured two anniversary cigars. The first is called the Decade, which I featured on September 30, 2007, right after returning from Honduras as a guest of the RP company. The second anniversary cigar, which is my featured cigar of this episode, is called the Indian Tabac 10th anniversary.

This medium-full-bodied cigar is earmarked to become part of the regular line of cigars released from Rocky Patel. It comes in boxes of 20 and in four different sizes: a 5 x 50 Robusto; a 6 ½ x 44 Lonsdale; a 6 1/2 x 52 Toro; and the cigar I am featuring today, which is the 6 1/2 x 52 RG Torpedo.
The tobacco is grown, and the cigars manufactured, in Nicaragua by Tabacalera Fernandez. Joseph Fernandez is the head of this up and coming tobacco production company and is poised to make his own mark in the cigar industry, as have so many members of his family.

The Indian Tabac 10th anniversary is the company’s first Nicaraguan Puro! The binder and filler tobacco comes from comes from 3 different regions in Nicaragua: Jalapa, Esteli and the Condega Valley. The Wrapper is a Cuban seed corojo, also grown in Nicaragua! The cigar is purported to be elegant, spicy and very complex. Well, I will certainly comment on that theory here on today’s Stogie Fresh 5 cigarcast.
FEATURED LIBATION: Montecristo 12 Year Aged Rum
Montecristo rum is made in Guatemala by the same folks that make my favorite: Ron Zacapa. It comes in a 750 ml bottle and weighs in at 40% alcohol by volume. The Montecristo rum is aged in American oak Bourbon barrels. Barrel aging imparts the natural color, spicy aroma and smoothness to a high quality spirit.

DOC’S CIGAR POSTSCRIPT: Bolívar Colosales
The Colosales was part of the Regional Release program that started in 2005. I featured this cigars on episode #43, back in December of 2006. The Regional Edition cigars are special limited-production cigars made for specific regional markets on a (normally) once-off basis, for a maximum 2-year period. After that, the sticks are considered for inclusion in the regular production range. The Colosales was the Regional release for Germany in 2006.

SPECIAL SEGMENT: Jesse Nachtigal of CigarJack.net will begin a series of reviews and ratings of cigar manufacturer web sites. This week Jesse rates the CAO web site.
