DESCRIPTION: Today, I’m featuring the Padrón 1964 Anniversary Series line, which was introduced in 1994 to commemorate the Padrón Company’s 30th anniversary. This limited production series cigar is constructed with all Nicaraguan grown tobacco, which is aged for four years.

In honor of the age-old Cuban tradition of box pressing cigars, the 1964 Anniversary line was introduced and remains a box-pressed series. This line consists of nine sizes that are all available in natural and maduro wrappers.

The cigar I am featuring today is the 1964 Anniversary Series Diplomatico Maduro: a 7 x 50 ring Churchill.

FEATURED LIBATION: Caparone Nebbiolo.

Since 1979 Caparone Winery has specialized in rich, complex red wines, made using traditional minimalist techniques and sold at fair prices. Located northwest of Paso Robles, California, they are one of the oldest small, artisan wineries in the region.

DOC’S CIGAR POSTSCRIPT: Padrón 6000 Maduro. The Padrón 6000 Maduro was featured on episode number 44 of Stogie Fresh 5 on December 25, 2006. These cigars have been lying in my humidor for 22.5 months. That’s nearly 2 years of aging in my humidors.
