J.Fuego Cigars has been in business for less than two years and to date, they have two cigar lines. The first is called the J.Fuego Natural, a three-country blend of 100% Criollo tobaccos. The Natural is composed of a Honduran and Nicaraguan filler blend, and its binder and shade grown Criollo wrapper are from Nicaragua.

The cigar I am featuring today is the second line and its called the Gran Reserva Corojo No.1. It’s a four-country blend of 100% Corojo tobacco. It has a filler composed of 66%
Ligero from Honduras and Nicaragua and 33% Viso from an undisclosed origin. It has a Costa Rican binder and a Honduran sun grown Corojo wrapper. And today I’m smoking the 6 x 54 Belicoso, which comes packaged in a painted wooden box of 20 cigars.

There is also plenty of age on the Gran Reserva Corojo No. 1.  The youngest leaf is the wrapper and it’s already 6 years old. After these cigars are rolled, they are aged for another 3 months in cedar cases to allow the marriage between the different tobaccos and the cedar.

FEATURED LIBATION: Hancock’s President’s Reserve Single Barrel Bourbon

The Hancock’s President’s Reserve is a product of the Buffalo Trace distillery. It is a single barrel bourbon, meaning that all of the bourbon in this bottle comes from a single barrel, which is not the usual case with bourbons, which are typically blended from a batch of many barrels. The single barrel designation usually means that the barrel was designated by the barrel master as being an exceptional whisky and was set aside for use in single barrel bottling.  This particular bottle contains bourbon at 88.9 proof or 44.5% alcohol by volume.
