DESCRIPTION: The cigar I am featuring today is the 2007 21-Year Salute. It’s a 5-¼ inch by 52 ring Robusto. According to Robert Levin, president of Ashton Cigars, only 50,000 21-Year Salutes were made in 2007.

At the beginning of 2006 the ESG was released in its original vitola and from that time would be released in a new size every year for five consecutive years. Then, on the 25th anniversary in the year 2010, all five sizes will be available and will henceforth be produced annually to make up their part in the regular production lines of Ashton cigars.

FEATURED LIBATION: Trois Pistoles (trwa-pee-stole)

Now today’s featured libation is Trois Pistoles, which means Three Coins. It’s named after a small village in the region of Les Basques in Québec. The Trois Pistoles is 9% alcohol by volume.

SPECIAL REPORT: This week Doc will report on day one of the ProCigar Festival 2008 in the Dominican Republic.
