DESCRIPTION: The 601 was introduced in August of 2006 and was blended by José "Pepin" Garcia and manufactured at his Tabacalera Cubana factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. The 601 owes its name to the date that Eddie and Erik first went to visit Don Pepin’s factory in Nicaragua, which was on a June 1. Soon thereafter, the 601 Series brand was born.
Tthe 601 Green label. Released in time for the 2007 RTDA trade show in Houston Texas, the Green label, also called the Habano Oscuro, is purported to be the strongest of the 601 series. The filler and binder use Nicaraguan leaf and the wrapper is a Nicaraguan Habano Oscuro.

The Green label consists of five different vitolas, or sizes, and comes in 20 count boxes, except for the Corona, which is packed in 40 ct. boxes.
FEATURED LIBATION: Red Rocket Ale
According to the Bear Republic web site, “this fiery red ale is not for the weak at heart. This is a very complex recipe using five different grains to achieve its unique flavor.” Well, if alcohol content is any indication, this is a pretty buff ale, weighing in at 6.8% Alcohol By Volume.
