Tasting Notes
This cigar showed the classic Camacho shape in figurados. It is one of their Cuban Style cigars, made with the “Economical Buyer” in mind. The wrapper color was a rich brown with small veins and smooth and leathery to the touch. The pre-light aroma was that of wood and earth.

I used a Micro-Torch lighter to fire this one up. This produced a nice, even glow on the foot. Heavy spice is tasted for the first third of this smoke. The spice then mellows out for most of the remainder of the cigar. For a moment, I thought it was a maduro, and not a natural wrapper.

The flavor and body of the cigar continues to build past the halfway point. The Corojo filler is doing its job at this point, and the flavors of oak and earth continue to tease the palate. No bite was ever sensed throughout this fine smoke. I did wish that I had something to rinse the rich flavors from my palate, and a little something more to eat. This baby was getting strong by the point.

When I brushed the first ash off, it was at about 1 inches long. The ash fell firmly, and even with the foot. It was a nice, grayish white piece of ash. I did experience an uneven burn by the 1/3 point. Rotating the cigar helped correct this, but after the halfway point, I had to do a touch-up to even out the burn. More effort was required to control the uneven burn and, finally, didn’t try anymore. The burn on this sample disappointed me, but it is still worth the try if you haven’t had one before. We’ll rate this one again in 3 months.
