This is the third tasting review of the Camacho Havana here on
Stogie Fresh. This cigar has a rich brown wrapper that is slightly mottled, while displaying small, spider-web like veins. The pre-light aroma was feint with earth and wet hay.

I clip off about 3/8 of an inch of the cap, and gently toast the foot with my TSA approved Zippo lighter. A few puffs later, and I am cruisn’. The foot lit evenly, and I am rewarded with copious amount of smoke. The first half-inch was spicy, with heavy notes of wood. The burn was uneven after the first half inch, but was correctable by rotating the cigar.

The spiciness diminished soon thereafter, while rich wood and coffee tones dominated the remainder of this cigar. By the halfway point, the full-bodiedness toned down a bit, but the flavor was continually filling. The burn continued to be a problem throughout the remainder of this cigar.

Near the last 1/3, the cigar took on a light bitter taste, and became spongy from the humidity released by combustion. I took this as my cue to finish this experience, rather than to add to my discontent.

I was disappointed by the bitter taste near the finish, but not every cigar is consistent with previous experience. I still think that this is a great “Cuban Style” cigar that is worthy of having a place in your humidor. I think that the flavors would balance out some if I had a dollop of Bourbon, or Single Malt Scotch. Alas, I had none. We’ll rate this again in 3 months.
