Tasting Notes
I last reviewed this cigar on 10/13/2005, about 3 weeks after purchase. Now, at over 4 months, I look forward to describing the changes. This smoke has a wonderfully oily Ecuadorian sun grown wrapper, referred to as a “Natural Oscuro. The filler and binder are Dominican.

The wrapper has a fairly prominent network of veins that spider their way throughout the cigar surface. Speaking of the surface, the oils oozing from this dark wrapper leaf are seemingly generated by some kind of sub-wrapper pump. Delicious-looking.

Fighting my urge to eat this smoke, I hasten to trim and light it. The lighting was uneventful yet perfect and the flavors burst forth with notes of tobacco and leather. I lean back in my rocker to enjoy the flavors on my tongue and make me want to smack my lips, so I do. Repeatedly.

At the halfway point, the cigar had a minor burn problem due to an air pocket in the filler, but it righted itself quickly and without effect to the overall enjoyment.

The second half of this cigar was richer in flavor, with a bit of sweetness interspersed with the tobacco flavor. Not a complex smoke, yet medium-full flavored and bodied. A fine smoke.
