Oliva Cigar Company | Tasting Notes
This cigar encompasses the original blend that the Oliva Family used prior to going on with the Oliva Bold line. Wrapper is a nice Colorado hue, with a medium sized vein running the length of the body. The entire cigar has a Spongy feel to it, but does not seem to be loosely rolled, or under-filled. I do find a couple of soft spots near the head of the cigar. The pre-light aroma is Early Barnyard, a nuance that I enjoy in cigars. I notice that there is a smaller cap placed over the primary cap on the head of the cigar, so I am not too worried about over-cutting this cigar.
This stogie lit up nice and evenly with my TSA approved Zippo lighter. Tones of wood and a hint of spice dance on your palate. The aroma is somewhat floral. Spotty hints of citrus are noted throughout the experience. The last half of the cigar builds into a nice, medium-bodied flavor that was never bitter. The finish was short with flavors of cedar. The burn of this cigar was excellent. It was nice and even the entire time. The ash was a nice, heavy white color that took some effort to break off. This is a nice everyday cigar when you dont want something too heavy, but you want all the flavor and experience. Well rate this one again in three months. ~Blake Storage Conditions
